Abstract: The collection includes a large, leather-bound album produced in the mid-1930s by the U.S. Forest Service for placement on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway's California Limited in an attempt to introduce passengers to the National Forests. Includes views from National Forests across the country with accompanying captions addressing such topics as recreation, wildlife, reforestation, timber management and use, fire control, forage, and the activities of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Images date from 1914-1933.
