Abstract: The collection includes two photograph albums held by the Davenport, Peters Company. Album 1 contains 10 black and white photographs with text pertaining to the San Francisco earthquake and fire of April 1906. Prepared in June 1906 by the Redwood Car Shippers Bureau, the album depicts the effect of the fire on buildings constructed of redwood. The photographs record the damage done by the 1906 fire while the text promotes the effectiveness of redwood as a fire-retardant construction material.
