Abstract: The Western Timber Association (WTA) was established in the 1950s to analyze issues, policies, and statutes relating to the sale of timber from public lands in the western United States. In 1988, this California-based organization merged with the California Forest Protective Association and the Western Lumber Manufacturers to form the California Forestry Association.
