Historical Note

MacMillan Bloedel Products Company at Pine Hill, Alabama was a subsidiary of the Canadian forestry company MacMillan Blodel and Powell River Limited, which later became MacMillan Bloedel Limited.

Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, the parent corporation was created in 1959 as MacMillan and Bloedel Limited. The merger with Powell River Company resulted in MacMillan Bloedel and Powell River Limited. On May 10, 1966, the name changed to its present form, MacMillan Bloedel Limited. In 1999, MacMillan Bloedel Limited was purchased by the American pulp and paper company Weyerhaeuser.
