Image Title: Portals and signs.
Image Caption: Unique roadside marker for the town of Shelton along US 101. This is made from a cross-section of a Douglas-fir that started growing about the time Marco Polo was traveling. This community is dependent upon forest industries, and much of the wood used by its mills comes from the nearby Olympic National Forest. Markers read "Shelton, Home of the Evergreen Forest," "Keep Mason County Green," and "Keep Washington Green." Mason County, Washington.
